King’s River Life publishes My Short Story, “The Mexico Job”
On 31 May 2025, King’s River Life published my classic intelligence story, “The Mexico Job.” A popular California publication, King’s River Life Magazine is known for its mystery and adventure stores.
Set just after the 1960s, the story follows a recently retired CIA officer self-sent on one final mission: to quietly deal with the aftermath of the death of a longtime friend and Agency colleague in Mexico City.
However, nothing is simple in this slow-burn story of deception, false compartments, personal rivalries and institutional security. “The Mexico City” took over a decade to write, between various revisions and numerous rejections; hopefully readers will agree that it was worth the wait.
